its the price of a car, apple are so good to put the basic model and than having to add 1000 extras to get what we really need …thar sucks

What do you use and iMac for… just internet racing? Or do you actually do work on it?

  5. Graham Roth on February 18, 2021 at 4:31 pm

My 21inch 4k mac with the 8GB of ram is painful when rendering in lightroom, I do have the 4GB video card too, thinking the 27inch i7 or i9 next and doing the ram myself

  6. Gold Eddie on February 18, 2021 at 4:31 pm

There it is again. The feeling of something that is standard in future. Look at that screen. So beautiful.

  7. Johann Wolf on February 18, 2021 at 4:32 pm

Typical apple… ship everything with matte sceen for years… take it away… then charge a premium for it.

Getting mine tomorrow, Dec. 8. 27" 10Gen 8G DDR4 with 1TB. I have a 2015 27", but after the Big Sur update, it seems to be running a little janky. I get paranoid about things like this, so I bought, what will hopefully be, the Last "Intel" desktop from Apple. Thanks for the overview. PEACE.

University guy here. My hp laptop is slowing down so thinking of getting an apple product as my iPhone and Powerbeats pro headphones are all the same. Have no clue what to get. I zoom and write papers but that’s basically it. What should I buy. Was gonna get another laptop but I’m thinking to go IMac desktop as I like a full keyboard and such. I’m not wealthy but if it’s for my education for the next few years I’ll consider it an investment. Any advise?

  15. Vikram Antin on February 18, 2021 at 4:42 pm

I just bought one with the mid level base model. No upgrades at all. Now, I’m not a power user by any means and sometimes use lightroom to spruce up my photos. Other than that it is mostly browsing and watching videos. I am not sure I would need too many upgrades as I already have 512GB storage and 8GB Ram with the 5300 video driver. Please advise if I need to upgrade to future proof it if I start doing some small time video editing. I’m receiving it on 11/19 and I can return it and order the upgrade if you guys think I’m missing out on some critical upgrades. I still don’t get what the 10Gigabit network thing does, so there is that.
ps: I did buy some accessories to go along with it. A samsung touch id T7 – 1GB external ssd, a rain design base for iMac 27 and a caddy called backpack by Twelve South…. I plan to upgrade RAM at a future time if I find this setup inadequate.

  16. Tim Ruiz on February 18, 2021 at 4:43 pm

Cam looks so much better. The sound from the mic could be better but an external mic would solve that. I am picky though.

  17. FireChoirVideo on February 18, 2021 at 4:44 pm

Really? Pay $500 for matt when all you have to do is buy window treatment or shift your iMac a few inches.

  18. Jason Now What on February 18, 2021 at 4:49 pm

How low is that ceiling? Or are you 6’9”?

  19. Big Tony on February 18, 2021 at 4:49 pm

Does this support iTunes libraries .? ..I have a 2013 ..21 inch iMac that’s on it’s last legs and want to upgrade to the 27 inch and was hoping i can still use my iTunes library as i have 7 years of music to export ,, I read somewhere that the new macs don’t have it ..
    Thanks
    Tony

Would be interesting if you also interviewed writers (novelists, scriptwriters, journalists).
I mean, they are creators too! And that is often forgotten. How do they work on their Macs and do they, for example use Scrivener or Word on Office? And what is their favourite Mac(Book) and why? And laptop or desktop? All interesting questions.

I’m waiting to see if the 2020 iMacs have ironed out the quality issues I’ve seen in my iMacs over the last 15 years. It’s either been a bad LCD, bad power supply, or bad graphics card.
It’s pretty sad when my 35 yr old Mac Plus still turns on, and boots without issue, but my 27” iMac needs the graphics card replaced… again.

Lmfao u didnt upgrade the old one to big sur. Tsk tsk tsk. Poor bastard doesnt know what patch is.

  28. PlayerX on February 18, 2021 at 5:04 pm

Honestly I plan to wait for the new Apple Silicon iMac. If they replace the 21.5" with a good 24" iMac with their own CPU, it could be a good second computer to me. i play games with my own windows 10 gaming rig as well, so yeah. just waiting to see what happens.

Good review. Informative, sharp, and not silly. Kudos.

  31. Teri Weronko on February 18, 2021 at 5:08 pm

Do you think 1 TB is the minimum ssd one should get in this imac ( i am a hobby photographer with a 2 TB library… thanks, love your videos!

  32. thakingbarry on February 18, 2021 at 5:09 pm

you it kinda flat at the front but at the bac its fat

  33. gmenclik on February 18, 2021 at 5:12 pm

imho the nanoscreen only makes sense if you’re sitting near a big window or something else with bright light shining on your screen. The downside of the nanoscreen is, that it degrades the sharpness of the display, so when you need to have perfectly sharp pictures don’t take the nanoglass

  34. Nestoons on February 18, 2021 at 5:13 pm

I have a late 2013 Mac and it’s slow AF

  35. Space Wiz on February 18, 2021 at 5:14 pm

For the price id sure like for it to last. Are macs worth it for a 8 year or more ownership?

  36. Frango-X on February 18, 2021 at 5:14 pm

Great review! Purchased my IMac 2020 27 inch this evening! You answered all my questions!

  37. Antoniocc on February 18, 2021 at 5:16 pm

the progress bar sticking out under the apple looks like a horrible appendicitis puncture unfit for a graphic designer.

  38. You know me... on February 18, 2021 at 5:17 pm

1080p cam is ok. But still, your studio cam, the Canon is much much better. Apple doesn’t show us how many fps for 1080p cam. As I see you, it’s not very high.

thank you because guide me to bought the new imac 27

  40. You're Gonna Die In Seven Days on February 18, 2021 at 5:18 pm

Who can afford this stuff lol I’d much rather paint my pc case and install a mac os theme on it and slap a apple sticker on it haha hackintosh

  41. Jean-Claude de Shable on February 18, 2021 at 5:18 pm

Apple iMac simply ROCKs … The thing is that I will keep my 2016 iMac 27" and yes, most probably buy another iMac 27" rather soon as once the Apple processors come in play on iMac’s most probably you will not be able to upgrade your ram via 3rd party products as is the case at the moment.

  42. Dina's 1st Album Nasyan on February 18, 2021 at 5:20 pm

I’m buying that on nov 27 Black Friday cause it will be cheaper

  43. En G2 on February 18, 2021 at 5:22 pm

First time asking this, since I don’t have this fancy stuff, but does this iMac is a nice combo with the new Mac mini? Since the new Mac mini will be using the M1 chip, the Apple Silicon.

  44. SATSifaction on February 18, 2021 at 5:23 pm

Am i the only one at the edge of my seat hoping his iMac doesn’t fall off the table…so close to the edge.

  45. Christos Lytras on February 18, 2021 at 5:23 pm
