A beginner's guide to quantum computing | Shohini Ghose

A quantum computer isn’t just a more powerful version of the computers we use today; it’s something else entirely, based on emerging scientific understanding — and more than a bit of uncertainty. Enter the quantum wonderland with TED Fellow Shohini Ghose and learn how this technology holds the potential to transform medicine, create unbreakable encryption and even teleport information.

Something to do with Stern-Gerlach Experiment which in turn a manifestation of Heisenberg uncertainty. Super position of states

I think the quantum spin in entalgment would be great because you could also manipulate the Higgs field due to chirality correct me if I’m wrong by replying or disliking

This was the shittiest explanation ive ever seen. She just keeps saying quantum over and over. Very stupid video.

"IBM built a quantum computer…" 3:50 "it lost a few only because of operational errors in the computer". So you’re telling me IBM was not able to build a computer to successfully play a coin game? Sounds like IBM 🙂

  14. Ms Natalia Natasha on April 3, 2020 at 3:12 pm

there is no proof that IBM has a quantum computer….. thank you.

Me: Hi Quantum Computer: What is 3+3?
    Quantum Computer: (33) superposition……..
    Classical computer: 6
Quantum Computer: Quantum physics have replaced classical mechanics. Now quantum mathematics will replace classical mathematics. 3+3 is not 6 but 33…..

So if two Quantum Computers play chess against each other, two things happen. 1. One of them surrenders after the first move. 2. They never actually start.

Does flip the coin mean turn it over. Or actually flip it so that each side has a 50/50 chance of being up.

  35. Amit kumar on April 3, 2020 at 3:34 pm

The ancient Vedic rishis in all their wisdom said as early as 8000 BC , that our universe is not woven from  matter but consciousness .
There are connections between quantum mechanics and consciousness . Consciousness is the intelligence, the organising principle behind the arising of form. The quantum field or pure consciousness is influenced by intention and desire.
As per quantum physics things do not exist in its physical form, unless they are observed by a conscious observer.

In every experiment when an observer expected energy to behave as a particle, it did so. When he thought it would probably be wave-like, it was. And when observers believed it might start out as one form and end up as another, it did so.

This means ,nothing actually exists in its physical form until observed by someone, was adopted by the group as one of the concepts.  You created them by your expectations and your thoughts of what should be. In every situation in your life, including the wealth or lack of it you choose to attract to you.

Thanks to the theory of ERP Quantum Entanglement, originally asserted by Albert Einstein and two fellow scientists , Boris Podolsky and Nathan Rosen, we now have proof that what Vedanta had been saying for 9000 years is true.We are all connected. We are all One, sharing a consciousness with the entire universe, perhaps even many universes.
Don’t compare Vedas to other religion book .Vedas are only for human and have scientific facts , cosmology , advance math , quantum physics , astro physics all top scientist including einstein, shrodinger , heisenberg, Oppenheimer etc read vedanta as scientific book and get knowledge form it for there scientific research
Veda never tell about any sects , cast and religion …only told about Dharma .

Quantum computers will destroy the world and destroy mankind leading to alterations in our DNA. YOU CAN RESEARCH IN ANY CHRISTIAN WEBSITE ON YOUTUBE ABOUT THIS LEADING TO TRANSHUMANISM. MR. TOM HORN WHO WROTE ABOUT TRANSHUMANISM. LET US NOT BE IGNORANT OUR CHILDREN SHOULD KNOW WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON WE ARE PEOPLE that the Living God created them to be. It is a not a coin game as this lady says. It is deeper and more risky when you won’t have access until one day they implant a foreign body of a chip on your forehead or hand on humans because the people of techs of Quantum felt you were not smart enough. This resulting in Cancer and destroying the health which caused by 5G interference of a person’s DNA. IT WILL BE CREATED IT WILL SOUND GREAT BUT THE PERSON WHO SUPPORT THIS MUST UNDERSTAND THIS QUANTUM, and 5G and whatever to extract billions from tax payers. This WILL ONLY DESTROY MANKIND WHO PLACE THEIR FAITH IN QUANTUM.( SPIRITUAL COMPUTER of fluid dynamic) IT IS NOT A REGULAR COMPUTER. We should stop just with what we have and forget Quantum .WE WILL LOOSE JOBS , POVERTY , ECONOMY SHUT DOWN. HEALTH ISSUES WILL RISE TO THE EXTENT EVERY MONEY EARNED WILL BE LOST to save the human race. Thank you . Please look into TRANSHUMANISM and research for yourself . EACH OF US ARE GIVEN INTELLIGENCE BECAUSE WE ARE NOT METAL CREATED BY HUMAN HANDS BUT CREATED BY AN ALMIGHTY CREATOR. LET US THINK CLEARLY AND KNOW THE HUMAN MIND NEVER BE WASTED!

I feel like people get mad at these science videos because they don’t understand what they are being told (don’t get mad it’s just my opinion)

  39. Mahesa Rangga on April 3, 2020 at 3:37 pm

It’s scary, people are going to abuse it.

And talking about fluid identity, I suspect that transgender gets the idea from Quantum Computing

  40. LabGorilla on April 3, 2020 at 3:39 pm

I’m not clear what I learned from this? The potential of quantum computing? But not how the heck this ‘fluid identity’ happens. Oh I did hear a few times that she is a quantum physicists.

  41. A Pall on April 3, 2020 at 3:40 pm

It’s reassuring read all these comments! I thought I’m the only one who didn’t understand this

  42. Rifat Hossain on April 3, 2020 at 3:43 pm

    its called cheating….

  43. Hayden Hoodless on April 3, 2020 at 3:44 pm

Actually I did kind of get this. We know that modern computers work with bits representing 1s and 0s and combinations of them to represent data. Bits can only ever be a 1 or a 0, but never both at the same time, the same as when you flip a coin and see the result, you can’t have heads and tails at the same time. With a quantum computer however, bits can be both 1 and 0 at the same time. If you understand Schrodinger’s cat, it’s basically the same principle, it’s only when you look into the box will you see whether the cat is dead or not, but you can never know the answer until that, so you have to accept both possibilities at the same time. That’s why quantum encryption is unhackable, because even if you manage to "see" the data in it’s quantum form, it’s kinda like you’re trying to figure out whether the cat is dead or not.

If you ever delve deep enough into chemistry and physics, you might have heard that, rather than orbit the nucleus like a planet in a predictable path, it’s kind of impossible know where exactly an electron is, it’s at every point around the nucleus at the same time whilst also not being there as well. *mind explodes*.

The fact that we struggle with these mind boggling concepts and pinpoint things is precisely why the quantum computer is useful. It’s bits behave the same way. That’s why it’s useful for chemistry, because it imitate the behaviour of atoms in the same black magic way, we can model reactions without having to worry about the infinite crazy possibilities the direction of a particle might fly off to, and then translate the important information to us in a digestible format.

At least that’s what I’m getting.
