We need to monitor approx 150” of fence that is approx 15′ away from the house. Two problems, lighting and angle of reach. We are considering buying 3 ring cameras to break the area into zones. Place two 1/3 of the way in, facing two directions, and then a third facing the back 1/3 of the property. Problem – MONEY! Trying to figure out the best, cheapest combination to light up the side yard if people are there. PLUS, we need them battery powered, not hardwired. Do you think we could pair a ring battery operated flight light with 3 ring stick up cams and get good coverage or would we be better off with 3 ring (or other model) spotlight cams? Thanks for any advice!

What camaras do you suggest for a single mom, with people coming by at night checking if the car doors are open?

  8. V&A Tech on February 19, 2021 at 10:13 pm

Hi Lifehackster, any chance you’ve seen the Heimvision assure b1? It looks very promising and resembles like what eufy cam 2c can do but with added benefit to store footage on SD card.

  9. Farsad Babazadeh on February 19, 2021 at 10:14 pm

I cannot understand why the Wyze Cam 3 is not available in Germany!

  10. Kimberly Lunda on February 19, 2021 at 10:14 pm

On the wireless camera’s such as Eufy and Argus3 do you have to have Wi-Fi for them, you didn’t say anything about that? If so do they have problems connecting to the wifi? Where do you enable them with Wi-Fi, is it located in your home? Do you have any kind of Wi-Fi booster?

Not sure what nvrp is though.

  13. Russell Mania on February 19, 2021 at 10:18 pm

I need a good indoor security cam that knows the difference between a person and a pet. Its rather annoying to keep on getting notifications if its just my dog.

  14. Kassie Rosales on February 19, 2021 at 10:20 pm

Have you heard of the Homam indoor WiFi cam? It’s no subscription and stores straight on the device itself (not on a cloud)…but it’s more expensive. Can you share what you think?

  15. Ash Allen on February 19, 2021 at 10:21 pm

Is there anymore info in the Argus Pro 3?

  16. Leon Le Roux on February 19, 2021 at 10:21 pm

WyeCam is NOT a live security monitoring camera ! its fine to reference on sd card or cloud after incidents but it is definitely not a Live Monitoring camera. Don’t think you can quickly reference to your tablet screen when doorbell rings or you hear something, chances are your live feed is stuck or "Connection Failed". I run Dahua wireless IP CAM setup next to WyeCam V3/PAN/Outdoor/V1 and the WyeCam feed reset/error/reset continuously with Dahua feed not dropping so its definitely not my network. (I even switched off 5GHZ connection permanently) I run Mesh network and can monitor downtime which is also stable.

Anyone know how I could set up a voice recording so if sound is detected the cam starts recording?

  20. more jello please on February 19, 2021 at 10:23 pm

hey hack! hanging in there? we finally got power back in austin, another round of storms passing thru tonight. i’ve been posting videos. anyways, i have a samsung smartcam that’s about to bite the dust, it’s an older version that’s basically an an old dropcam if you remember those. it’s a window cam so think small. what indoor window cam pointing out would you recommend? the thinner the better because it’s going in between the glass and a screen on a casement window. stay warm my friend!

  21. Captain Seemo on February 19, 2021 at 10:23 pm

The video quality of that camera in the first 5 seconds is amazing. Which one is that?

  22. Ferocity Rocket on February 19, 2021 at 10:24 pm

I’m curious, how do you feel about Ubiquity’s Unifi equipment? Pricier but fantastic quality.

  23. That Bearded Veteran on February 19, 2021 at 10:26 pm

Can you show your setup for live monitoring in your house? You showed a glimpse of what looked to be a tv streaming reolink feeds. How would I have a tv looking at the cameras in my office and in say the kitchen?

  24. Tony P on February 19, 2021 at 10:27 pm

Have you reviewed the Feit camera sold at costco for $100 yet? how does it compare? thanks

  25. Yue Gan on February 19, 2021 at 10:28 pm

So if ignore the price, do you recommend Wyze v3 or Reolink Lumus? I’m going to put it on a Wasserstein floodlight base. Thanks!

  26. perezm714 on February 19, 2021 at 10:28 pm

Ring camera doorbell sucks. It doesn’t pickup motion until the perp is already leaving your front door and the video quality is bad.

  27. Justa Dumblonde on February 19, 2021 at 10:28 pm

You must be very careful! I purchased two cameras, from Walmart, that I would be able to monitor remotely via my smart phone. I can’t currently remember the brand. While reading the fine print, I found that the manufacturer reserved the right to keep your recordings and do anything with them that they chose to do, including selling, and/or giving, your recordings to a third party!

  28. Fatal Ritte on February 19, 2021 at 10:29 pm

YES AND THEY STILL NEED FROM THE PUBLIC HELP TO FIND THE INTRUDER. Those cameras are only good for YouTube videos and the 10 o’clock news. Nothing beats a 12 gauge on the day off…

  29. Matthew Phillips on February 19, 2021 at 10:31 pm

I just watched this. But I’m curious is there a set of cameras that offer continuous viewing of multiple cameras at the same time?

  30. RV112 on February 19, 2021 at 10:33 pm

Thing that I hate about ring is it’s very everything america. Great if you’re American! But if they want to penetrate UK market and want our money, they need to share the app features, products and use our terminology. One example is we have neighbours not neighbors on the app! We don’t have the latest ring alarm neither do we have half the accessories. It’s very half baked over here with ring.
Lastly I don’t think ring really care about consumer requests and ideas. I mean why choose scheduled light on/off feature at certain times on the floodlight but not for the spotlight? Especially when you can mood set the spotlight brightness. Be great to turn off the ir light too but I guess they’ll never give us that choice either. Their app is horrendous at looking back in the timeline too which makes paying for it questionable.

  31. Rubey Red on February 19, 2021 at 10:33 pm

Amazon… Why are ALL these damn security cam videos in here ALL amazon products no way that’s actually safe where’s the real security type company s at

  32. Lydia Fernandez on February 19, 2021 at 10:34 pm

We already have battery powered cameras but all we want is one main camera that can record 24/7 can you recommend one?!

  33. Gerald W on February 19, 2021 at 10:35 pm

I was about to purchase the eufy 2c and 2 with basestation for outdoor use. However I read they have short range (about 10ft) motion detection, which is way too short for my needs. Is there some similar battery powered cameras with long distance motion sensor you’d recommend? (Do not want to pay for subscription)

  34. patricia ballard on February 19, 2021 at 10:36 pm

I’ve been researching for days/weeks for a camera with dependable full duplex real time 2 way audio for long distances. I need it to be responsive for misbehaving dogs. They respond very well if only spoken to but it has to be timely. Can you share you experience with that please?

  35. jordy esquivel on February 19, 2021 at 10:39 pm

is blink not a good one ?

  36. Husin BI on February 19, 2021 at 10:45 pm

thanks for sharing this….by the way, you look like Dwayne Johnson

  37. Haze America on February 19, 2021 at 10:45 pm

Hi can you make a video of security cameras that has big storage? Also ones that work long distant? I want to be able to travel but also be able to see what goes on at home. Also one where you don’t have to pay for service.

  39. Star Gazer on February 19, 2021 at 10:48 pm

I am NEVER paying for a subscription to a home video recording of my house. *Maybe* for a doorbell type, but certainly not 24/7 recording of my house. If something happens, I’ll review it later, not paying Bezos, et al for storing my home video….

  40. Jennisan Enriquez on February 19, 2021 at 10:49 pm

i bought b4 the techbox camaras, theyre are so bad, i cant even see anything in the night, they put me paint inside my gas tank, i cant even see who was, so i dont recommend this camara to anyone
