The best home security systems, after testing them for at least six months each, are from #abode, #ADT, which includes #BlueByADT, #Alder, #Cove, #Frontpoint, #DeepSentinel, #RingAlarm, #SimpliSafe, #Vivint and #Xfinity. These systems all differ in terms of system components, installation, be it DIY or professional, monitoring, be it self versus professional monitoring, storage, and smart home integrations. Some systems would work better for certain people more than others; for example, if you are already in the Amazon smart home ecosystem, then we’d recommend a system that’s integrated with Alexa. We’ll break it all down in the above video.

Great job. I had no idea there were this many options.

I have a unique question. I just bought a multi family home and I plan to live in one unit. I have a Vivint system at a property I manage and plan to install their system for my unit in the multifamily. I always build in the cost of a home security system into my leases as it is a nice touch for the tenant, but also it ensures that my place will be safe. Since Vivint can get costly, I am thinking about only using them for my unit, and getting a cheaper starter ring package for the tenants unit. I have no real desire to monitor the tenants system except when the unit is vacant. Is this a good idea? I would prefer not to be locked into an extensive contract for the tenants unit.

How are you? Nice videos, do you know something about ajax and if I can find something similar but not so expensive

  4. William Hood on May 1, 2021 at 10:38 pm

ABODE IS HORRIBLE. Their hardware and customer service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Please stay far away!

  5. ysbel Bella on May 1, 2021 at 10:39 pm

While Ring offers a wide variety of cameras and devices, The recording & clarity Is trash. my car got broken into at 4am right in front of my home & the camera was not able to get a clear video because the night vision is crap. all you see is a dark shadow from 10 ft away. It also misses movement on a regular basis. My neighbor has the Ring doorbell & also has the same issue where things happen out front & the camera doesn’t record so I know its not a wi-fi or connectivity issue because his is hardwired. I would never recommend Ring to anyone.

  7. Darian Kelly on May 1, 2021 at 10:41 pm

I was here just to look briefly, but he is such a cool guy I stayed to hear him speak LOL

  8. Peter Martinez-B on May 1, 2021 at 10:42 pm

It would be nice if some of these companies would hook up to existing wired systems. If you if you know about one please do a video on that product.

  9. Kiran Marrapu on May 1, 2021 at 10:46 pm

Is the order you listed, from best to the least or least to the best? It should have been nice if you define them as 10 to 1 or 1 to 10. For better understanding.

  10. Big B on May 1, 2021 at 10:46 pm

I’m new to to the home security game and also have elderly ppl living with me. Any suggestions on the one I should go with?

  11. Mark McDonnell on May 1, 2021 at 10:46 pm

It would be good to know if these systems are designed with the US market in mind or if they work elsewhere in the world (e.g. UK). Things like automatically calling the police, is that US only? That sort of thing.

  12. TClair413 on May 1, 2021 at 10:47 pm

Gave: Which one do you have???

  13. tarjinder singh on May 1, 2021 at 10:50 pm

  14. Steve Selinsky on May 1, 2021 at 10:50 pm

does anyone have any experience with Clare Home Security?…we have the system in a new home we purchased, but i can’t find any info about how people who have it too feel about it…

  15. Evan Bartlett on May 1, 2021 at 10:50 pm

Is there a battery powered one that works on wifi without a base unit? I have a place where I have no plugs anywhere close, but I’d like a camera. Thanks!

  16. cxerphax1 on May 1, 2021 at 10:51 pm

    What about eufy?

  17. sean white on May 1, 2021 at 10:51 pm

Yeah I’m fan . Vista 20P , IQ2+ or DSC NEO are the only panels I’d ever install in my home .
I’m older school guy so Vista 20P with 6160 KPs and SEM Module is my go too for all Hard Wired system .
Usually you dont wanna get notified that quick by your CS . You want to have at least 15 second dial delay to reduce false alarms.
For wireless sensors you want Power G for sure or any other encrypted sensors . is super reliable and capable of Cams , home automation / Zwave and everything else . Why use multiple apps when you can just have 1 for all security and home automation needs . The video analytics is phenomenal and its encrypted. ADC even has access control for commercial or residential. accounts can do everything you’ve talked about in this video.
I’m not a fan of having certain home automation stuff connected to the internet because if it goes out they dont work . Obviously Liftmaster is internet but locks , lights or tstats aren’t if using Zwave . I’d much rather have radio that has zwave controller built in and can also handle dual path communication.
10 years ago or so if you wanted all these cool features you had to go with control 4 . Which is super expensive . Now ADC can handle pretty much handle almost everything control 4 can .
The central station is the most important part to any security system . Guardian Protection has one of the best period . They win awards for their CS for sure . There’s quite a few others with excellent CS as well . .

This is the best video for security systems I’ve seen thus far and has really helped me, thank you. Not too in-depth, yet definitely very informative. Which one of these systems works best with iOS Homekit?

  19. Keith Folske on May 1, 2021 at 10:51 pm

    Love the USA Team jersey!!

  20. Security AllStar on May 1, 2021 at 10:51 pm

Why are you not talking about encryption on security systems?

  21. theforceq on May 1, 2021 at 10:53 pm

I used to own the Comcast Xfinity Home security system, and it worked really good.
When I moved from Philly and back to Montgomery County (where it’s usually peaceful) I didn’t feel the need to have a surveillance system, but out of boredom I ordered Xfinity home this morning… because I kind of miss it. I wanna be able to investigate any noise that I hear without having to get up.
That’s the best thing about security systems. Nice review!

  22. Tonto Schwartz on May 1, 2021 at 11:00 pm

WOW Gabe this is in-depth and intense. I used ADT once upon a time. But my gosh there are a LOAD of new ones to work with. I’m a bit overwhelmed honestly. I will watch this several more times to try to get up to speed on what is available now. I am a senior and I want SIMPLE, but great protection. I would like professional installation, but am not adverse to DIY. Hard to chose from your list. My neighbor uses a Ring door cam, though probably the cheapest there is, as the monitoring is crap. We have to monitor it when they are on vacation. I want a solid, secure, easy to use, top notch system.
Thanks for all this information. The Hook Up goes into tech info in depth. Great video on door cams.

I found my Pitbull and .357 magnum to be much more effective…..

  24. sail1999 on May 1, 2021 at 11:02 pm

Shouldn’t the title of this video be "Best Security Cameras 2021?"

  25. Brendan Montague on May 1, 2021 at 11:02 pm

Alder is a scam and was forced to fork over 4 million dollars in a lawsuit. Wouldn’t go that route

  26. John McNeeley on May 1, 2021 at 11:03 pm

This video had a lot of good info and good production. Much appreciated.

  27. Leah G on May 1, 2021 at 11:03 pm

Are there any systems where people cannot hack or call and gain access without the owner’s permission. I don’t have a sense of security!!! Especially without moving across the country! Stay out of people’s person space. Yet alone their home!!!!!!!

  28. Phillip Huffman on May 1, 2021 at 11:04 pm

    Why not review

  29. ECO 3686 on May 1, 2021 at 11:04 pm

“The best” yet he listed over 20…

  31. D F on May 1, 2021 at 11:07 pm

Not enough technical information to help make a decision. (e.g. Quality of video, etc) This is more of a commercial

  32. Irek Malikowski on May 1, 2021 at 11:08 pm

    You forgot Arlo!!!

  33. Lookout4the3rdrail on May 1, 2021 at 11:08 pm

Thanks ! This is gonna Work for the Bad Apples

  34. Dustin Williamson on May 1, 2021 at 11:09 pm

Most of these companies share the features you listed under only one. In fact almost everyone. And no general pricing comparison or equipment specs?

  35. Jamila Burke on May 1, 2021 at 11:11 pm

Dose any of these records sounds?

  36. j t on May 1, 2021 at 11:14 pm

I have deep sentinel and it’s hands down the best system. Happy I switched from ADT.

  37. pitcher2016 on May 1, 2021 at 11:14 pm

    Really appreciated this video.

  38. John Szatkowski on May 1, 2021 at 11:15 pm

Should have mentioned monthly prices for these! Some of these are REALLY expensive per month and devices are too pricey as well!

  39. Vinnie on May 1, 2021 at 11:15 pm

Cove and Alder are identical systems. What’s the story ?

  40. Matthew Haller on May 1, 2021 at 11:15 pm

This is almost as confusing as cord cutting and cable TV alternatives.

  41. sexy blonde on May 1, 2021 at 11:16 pm

SIMPLISAFE ? More like simpliunsafe because of how easy it is to jam their alarm!

  42. Joshua Carbaugh on May 1, 2021 at 11:24 pm

Bummed that NEST is discontinuing. I had a whole system at my old home but now since I’m moving it not sure what to do 🙁

Wasn’t very impressed with vivent- didn’t like the contract and quality of the products.

  43. T S on May 1, 2021 at 11:26 pm

Lol vivint is a crap company. Trust me i know….I used to install it!
