Don't Buy a NEW Gaming Laptop Yet!

Every year new gaming laptops come out promising to be so much better but really your 2-3 year old gaming laptop is still REALLY good. In this video I compare a 2 year old gaming laptop against a brand new gaming laptop packed with a RTX 3080. How much better are 2021 Gaming laptops compared to 2018 & 2019?

I feel like I will get my money’s worth as my only computer is a hand me down hand Mac from 2013 that I can’t even upgrade the OS on anymore lol. I want something new with a CPU that doesn’t crap out on Ableton.

I think my laptop’s LCD leaking is what created that desire

The only reason why I was thinking to get a new g.laptop is because of the skyrocket price of the gpu.

  20. Starrider on May 19, 2021 at 11:23 pm

My 6 year old Acer Aspire is diying. Not sure if I’m better off taking an MSI GS75, or invest in bigger numbers

  21. Tom Murphy on May 19, 2021 at 11:23 pm

Great video. So true, a few year old laptop is still fine. My 2018 Blade 15 with 1070 was still amazing at most games and productivity.
I did upgrade to a Razer Blade Pro 17 with 2070 and it is better but not 50% better. Will wait for 13th gen Intel and RTX 4 series till the next one.

I have an GL503Ge Labtop I bought in 2018 with 1050 ti Max Q, i7 8th,1 hybrid HDD and a 128GB SSD, 16 GB Ram well worth it has a Compartment to upgrade Ram & and the SSD + HDD. However I don’t think it’s benifits me because of my gaming and streaming. It’s to slow that I can’t even play Val Halla or cyberpunk the graphic Cs card runs on 4GB and the Intel CPU too slow to play low res on shadow of war. But still a good computer for the long run maybe I will buy a razer enclosure with 3060ti
