But why are they always promoting disabling and deactivating Defender permanently from Windows 10 ??? everybody says it sucks against all kinds of stuff..

  6. Sky on May 6, 2021 at 10:30 pm

I still recommend using third party antivirus applications since windows defender doesn’t really perform well in zero day attacks

  7. Passionata Dance on May 6, 2021 at 10:31 pm

    Sophos free.

  8. Pale O'Pterix on May 6, 2021 at 10:31 pm

Windows 10 is worse than a virus, so I must agree with you: once you run Windows 10, it is absolutely useless to use any antivirus. Because it would be like appliying bandages over the bullet hole you made in your forehead.

  9. louie malim on May 6, 2021 at 10:32 pm

another tip, if you are going with windows defender use the Configure Defender tool to harden the antivirus settings, select the High option in the configure defender tool and this should prevent malware from executing

  10. BigWallyFilms on May 6, 2021 at 10:32 pm

I used Defender recently to scan my system. All clean, no problems. Tried the same with Anti-Malwarebytes and got several PUP’s (potentially unwanted programs), scores and scores of adware, and an actual virus than Defender missed. Which one do you think I will use? And I’m using the free version. Your turn.

  14. Maelael on May 6, 2021 at 10:38 pm

Windows defender is far too slow in keeping up with the newest threats, and it can miss stuff coming in. If I did not have a safety net with a secondary anti-virus scanner/blocker I would have been infected a few days ago that windows defender let slip. This advice is garbage. Get an anti-virus as a backup, as Windows machines are about as secure as an open safe.

  15. Eduardo Reis on May 6, 2021 at 10:38 pm

Silly question : does defender run in a legacy w7 os? Tks

  16. OliverTittyTwist on May 6, 2021 at 10:39 pm

Win Defender will miss some bad stuff. Id suggest ‘Hitman Pro’ which is a freakin amazing program – i know from experience – Hitman Pro WILL rescue you when the proverbial hits the fan, like when you cant format your PC to get rid of the malmare etc, cos you need some files off it.
Id also recommend ESET, free online scanner which is also excellent, especially for free.

Sorry, I stopped listening near the beginning when you called Windows 10 an "operating system". But I guess there must be some logic to loading anti-malware onto malware.

Thank you! You are so true with your words. The only reason people will download more anti viruses is because they didn’t see windows defender warn them 420 times when they were going to a website to get free robux.

Windows 10 is spyware. It collects everything you do. Including your password. It has excess to your contacts,, phone numbers, email accounts, photos, camera, saved websites, your banking information. Everything is stored offline.

Anti virus is not only protect your pc but it would be destroyed your pc also, this is you should know. Because I also experienced to about my pc. When I bought avast security, then I started using it until 1 year for half. After that what happen. My pc going to slow, when download apps it blocked, Wifi problem, and more stuff. So it will better if you not using anti virus. A lot issues I’ve got this while dowload apps, connect internet and others.

  42. Ai Ki on May 6, 2021 at 11:11 pm

I have never paid for AV product but I have used premium versions for free. Recently AV started blocking leaked keys, so even if there is some serial online – AV will ban it the next day. Searching for a new working key online is just a waste of time.
If you are using up to date windows 10 system you should be just fine.

I’ve had nothing but problems with this software. Just after downloading and purchasing, my system began running incredibly slow. So the McAfee website said if I added another product it would speed things up. I installed the new product and my system died. Nothing could or would move.

After running into one error after another I called a tech company. They held onto my system for 10 days. During that time I was told the McAfee products were the cause of the problems. So I asked them to uninstall. Then McAfee began sending me emails stating that its software had saved me from specific virus’. How is that possible, its not even installed. Could it be that those emails are a canned email McAfee sends everyone? Including those people who don’t have their software installed.

I tried to get my subscription refunded. Especially since my computer has not been using it since before my 30 days were up. The Customer Service rep said I should have called. Even though I explained how do you call with your account info when your system is in the shop with all of your account info unavailable to you. How do you call or look something up when you don’t have access? I can’t be the only consumer with a problem with their software. But CS staff sent me to tech who sent me to billing who sent me back to customer service who said … No refund. How do you call McAfee without your computer, account number or any info to get your refund for a product you used for less than 30 days. How is that possible?

Not a chance – The AV-Test thing, if one goes directly to Defender – it sucks. All decent Security software has mutable devices built in, If one buys one at a local reputable computer store they are always on sale for as low as $15.00/year. I have been using Bitdefender and Kaspersky for many years with no issues.
