Samsung Galaxy Tab S7: I WAS WRONG! (Best Android Tablet 2020)

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7: I was wrong and I think it’s the best Android tablet 2020 (maybe even best tablet 2020). In this video I will discuss the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and why I was wrong about thinking the Tab S7 LCD screen was inferior to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus. The Tab S7 fingerprint sensor is also superior to the Tab S7 Plus, in my opinion. https://amzn.to/37WhV3Q (Affiliate Link)

Just brought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7, 512GB, Mystic Black for $395, which included taxes & no trade in from Samsung.

I had the Tab S6 and traded it in for the Tab S7. I think the color is a little more vivid on the Tab S7. GREAT tablet!! I’ve had the opportunity to buy some Tab S6’s and S7’s for sons, and set them side by side. I like the Tab S7 a little better. To me the display on the Tab S7 the color seems to be a little more vivid. ^_^
    great video BTW

Display was one thing that was holding me back from buying S7, now I need answers to issue of apps/web pages not being optimized for this tablet… Thanks.

    Doesn’t the 256gb tab s7 come with 8gb ram?

  8. Garrett Walton on December 27, 2021 at 1:39 am

Good video thanks. I enjoy reading at night. Would the LCD screen be worse on my eyes than a amoled screen? Can you do a in the dark comparison?

    So long winded

  10. Astro on December 27, 2021 at 1:41 am

Bought the tab s7 the other day and i was worried for the lcd display and when i turned it on and started using it man i was blowned away its the tablet i ever had❤

  11. Jessica Mann on December 27, 2021 at 1:42 am

thank you. You are helping me rationalize returning my S7+ and keep my S7 tablet. I am having a hard time giving up the AMOLED, but my primary purpose isn’t watching movies — it is doing work and maybe sometimes watching a movie on an airplane — all other time TOO DAMN BIG.

THese are most definitely not laptop replacements nor chromebook replacements. All of the android web browsers are trash. I eagerly await a contender to the Pixel Slate to buy some day.

I agree with you on the fingerprint sensor. Works flawlessly. Much less fussy.

The only time I see the screen bleed is on the boot screen which is thick white on black background. At a coffee shop with my coworkers sending emails, I’ll never see it.

Now the only problem is that I HATE these keyboards cases. They are thick and don’t satisfy the function of a case. And despite being technically large enough to fit a full size layout, it is still 80%.

Have you found a decent car mount for either the S7 or S7+?

  13. Вася Пупкин on December 27, 2021 at 1:46 am

I was also worried about LCD screen, did not watch any videos, just took a risk. Do not regret, amazing tablet.

Everyone with a tab s 7 how is it holding up now ?

  15. Hung Pham on December 27, 2021 at 1:49 am

Agreed. I have tab10, a7, and s7+. I don’t have a s7 but wish I had taken the deal when I saw it on slickdeals at Microsoft store in November 2020. The s7+ is just too big for my liking. 10 inch is perfect for tablet. 12 inches and up is mostly for laptop or chrome book.

  16. FNSCARL2 on December 27, 2021 at 1:49 am

Thank you for your thoughts. It helped me a lot in the deciding process.

  17. SLE 297 on December 27, 2021 at 1:49 am

I have been watching videos non stop on the s7 because i didn’t want that gigantic screen but i was going to buy it anyway because of the amoled display. But now you have convinced me that the s7 is still good so im just going to get that

  18. Jeff W on December 27, 2021 at 1:51 am

I have the S6 and it’s a great tablet, but I’m trading it for the S7 plus. I wouldn’t trade the s6 for the s7.

  19. Matt Pang on December 27, 2021 at 1:52 am

This is the video I was looking for… the screen. I was getting buyers remorse for buying one for $300.00 (256gb) .

  20. Eddie Anderson on December 27, 2021 at 1:54 am

Love the S7 over then S7+… the S7+ is too big to hold casually. Better to have the less is more functionality of the S7. Also for those few keyboard complaints of not sticking or clicking as strong to the Microsoft SurfacePro or Surface Go… thats actually a GOOD THING to me. The Microsoft ones you have to pull apart and they click so damn loud. The keyboards not meant to stick permanently when tablets is standing up… just temporarily cause its mostly just a tablet. I love being able to easily rip off the keyboard cover and toss it when I’m not using it. S7 rocks! Cant wait for the S8

  21. Chick M10 on December 27, 2021 at 1:54 am

Thanks a lot. I was worrying about the lcd too.

  22. Don Draper on December 27, 2021 at 1:56 am

Thank you. Wanted a tablet with bright screen for Drone flying but the 12.4 inch of the S7+ was just getting too large and heavy. Now I know the S7 will be a tad smaller and not losing out on screen quality. Thank you for this video.

  23. Belnick6666 on December 27, 2021 at 1:58 am

Here they are $700-$800, but it is better than mackintosh tablets that cost ~ $ 3000 dollars lol
more than what my current gaming rig is worth 😛

  24. ThinkForward on December 27, 2021 at 1:59 am

how are you getting those crazy deals! am here tryna find a used tab s7 for 490$

  26. Omizuke on December 27, 2021 at 2:01 am

I really dislike how OLED display has been put in such high pedestal. Are they good, yeah, best contrast around. Are they the best displays, nope. Look at all the professional monitors. If you wanna work with true image colors you’ll get an LCD. And they will dust the AMOLEDs. And good IPS has always have amazing color reproduction. Look at iPad pros or advance monitors. The problem is that companies have been slapping sub par IPS or "IPS-like" display on everything and have completely ruined the peoples perspective on IPS. People will always think every IPS is just like that terrible IPS on budget laptop or the one used on sub 300 tablets. The main problem is that IPS is an umbrella term at this point. No different than saying USB. Is it fast? Is it slow? You won’t know how fast it is just by USB. You really need to know if its 1, 2, 3, 3.1, 3.2. Or USB C, is it just C? Is it using 2 or 3 protocol. Like those phones with a USB C but are still ridiculously slow because they are using 2. If it’s 3, is it just 3? Or 3 with display port. Or a full thunderbolt port? There’s IPS, S-IPS, AS-IPS, IPS-Pro (3 dif gen), H-IPS, E-IPS, P-IPS and AH-IPS. Take your pick. In addition there are the "IPS-Type" display. Which I believe is what Samsung is using. Last I heard Samsung don’t do IPS. They do PLS, and IPS-type technology. Which, according to Samsung is better than than conventional IPS. In addition to color accuracy a good IPS will have a sharper image than nearly every AMOLED made by Samsung due to the sub-pixels. Or the PWM that for sensitive people is a problem, specially at certain level of brightness.
As for the power efficiency. That will vary depending on content. LCDs consume more power creating colors like black, while OLED work extra hard to make white, while shutting down completely on blacks. If you are going for dark and blacks OLED is more efficient. If you will be working with lighter environment then a good LCD will do.
Although honestly. I was concerned. Not because it uses an IPS or IPS-type display. But because the lac of info about which of the many ISP displays there are it is using. And in the past couple of years I see bad IPS raining on the tech market. Even highly priced laptops have cheap IPS when they used them. So was a bit worry Samsung would used a bad IPS. But from what I’ve seen it’s using one of the best IPS on a tablet.

I pulled the trigger on this one because of this video. I subscribed. LCD is easier on my eyes so that’s a Plus for me. Thank you for your service!

I need(well, I want) to upgrade from Samsung Galaxy s2 tablet to something newer, but I ONLY play a single game on it, I have several laptops and several desktops, but only 1 tablet…..for real computer use I use desktop, unless I travel and then I use laptops, but I play a game on my tablet which is starting to lag and it is not worth $700 dollars…..I could get a PlayStation 5 for that 😛

I have a galaxy view 2 17" tablet, trying to get this to work with xbox cloud gaming but I’m stuck In a sign in loop, after I click on "let’s go!" It brings me back to sign in again. Anyone know how to correct this??? I’m running xbox cloud on my s7+ tablet no problems. It’s wierd.

S7 was an easy choice for me. In Hong Kong, they had both on display, but 12.4" is way too big to carry around. It would be fine if it never moved but tablets are meant to be carried around. Even the S7 is a bit heavy for me, so the S7+ would be even heavier.

I think the S7 is a better value than the iPad Air because it starts at 128 GB for $50 more as opposed to 64 GB for the Air. The store also put in a free SD card for me as a bonus. Having bonus storage you can add later cheaply is far more user friendly than the terrible decision making process Apple puts you through. They play games on the storage as if they are looking to make an extra $100 to $150 off of everyone for storage you probably won’t need because they only gave you 64 GB to begin with which can easily run out once you download more apps.

Even after looking closely at the new iPad mini coming out now, I don’t think it’s a good deal at $499 with 64 GB. The device will be lacking in terms of its storage in the long run, so they force you to pay $150 for the 256 GB option. That brings the grand total to $649. Same as the full price of a Tab S7 a year earlier with better specs. Samsung always has better specs than Apple who are our to rip off people on storage and less memory and such.

Finally, I decided to pass on the new iPad mini and just use my Tab S7 for everything tablet related. It can be a bit large and heavy to hold in bed, but that’s the only drawback of it.

I just got the tab s7 a couple days ago and I’m not happy. I used the s8 which has an oled.
The tab s7 black is not very black.
colour accuracy is not as good
colour range is not as good
viewing angle is not as good
not as dark it can get

  39. Dustin Johnson on December 27, 2021 at 2:19 am

Thank you so much for this video. It’s a 50$ upgrade to go to the tab s7 for me and it’s cheap but I was also put off by the lcd screen so you have sold me man. I’m trading it tonight. I’m subscribing to you also because I really appreciate your honesty and it’s rare on YouTube. Thanks again.

Thank you for this video! I am working on a semi-flexible budget but the only reason I was going for the S7+ was my concern that the S7 display would be very much inferior. I just went ahead and ordered the S7 which was on sale.
