I’min the market for buying a new laptop to replace my almost 6 year old behemoth MSI GT72S.

The G15 was original the one I was waiting for, after hoping they’d make a 15" version of the G14 from 2019… but then I saw that M16 & was like yeah… that’s the one.

Except it isn’t, the poor battery life & noisy fans have made me come to the conclusion that it’s betterto wait until maybe April-May & HOPE they make a refreshed M16 with the same build & screen, but with the new 12th Gen CPUs for WAY better battery life with those efficiency cores.

Hello, i was able to get the dell g15 intel 11800h with nvidia rtx 3060 16gb RAM and 512GB ssd for $1099 on dell. This should be a good buy right?

  3. Fr0sty Universe on December 7, 2021 at 7:41 pm

Got the Surface Pro 8 i5 with 16gb of ram and have been loving it. Also managed to get a used Razer Core for $200 off eBay and threw in my old RX480. Love having one device that can pretty much do anything

  4. RkyMtnChi on December 7, 2021 at 7:41 pm

    Nice…only 1.8 kidneys for a Blade 14!

  5. Willam on December 7, 2021 at 7:42 pm

you reviewed the HP Pavilion Aero 13 but didn’t make this list? It went down as much as $500 and it literally rivals the XPS13!

  6. Artjoms B on December 7, 2021 at 7:46 pm

Legion 7 if you have money, legion 5 if you are on budget. The rest, dont even bother in 2021.

  7. Prathmesh Jani on December 7, 2021 at 7:46 pm

    What about Inspiron 15?

  8. Alucard Ytenin on December 7, 2021 at 7:50 pm

I feel like the refreshed Lenovo yoga 6 & duet 7i deserves some mention, especially duet 7i price versus value is way superior for what comes in one package

  9. Masoom Kumar Choudhury on December 7, 2021 at 7:50 pm

Fun Fact:At 2:13 he is not actually playing the game because that’s the exact same gameplay I saw some days ago most probably by NoCopyrightGameplays BTW It was amazing video Matthew. Feeling proud to be a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro owner but with the 3060.

  10. Anmol Agrawal on December 7, 2021 at 7:51 pm

You should check out the Lenovo YOGA Slim 7 Carbon. That thing packs a lot of premium features for the price of 7499 Yuan (approx. $1200)

  11. Vladimir Prodanovic on December 7, 2021 at 7:51 pm

One satisfied Zephyrus G14 user here

  12. takey0 on December 7, 2021 at 7:53 pm

I’m using the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 360 and I think it is an amazing laptop for school purposes (granted I got it on Black Friday for around $900)

  13. ajay patro on December 7, 2021 at 7:56 pm

    What about honor magicbooks ??

The worst laptop ranking I’ve ever seen…

  16. Ori Nahari on December 7, 2021 at 8:00 pm

Do you have a recommendation for a cheap/affordable laptop that’s good both for school and gaming (not very demanding games like cod or something but more like minecraft).
I heard the acer nitro 5 is pretty good but if you have any more recommendations I’d appreciate it 🙂

  17. luqxn on December 7, 2021 at 8:00 pm

Pls review asus vivobook pro 15

  18. Joshua Reveles on December 7, 2021 at 8:02 pm

I do agree that the Acer Swift X should be on the list. The price to performance ratio is incredible and it is a must buy for students who can’t use MacBooks for their studies (engineering and business students who use Access)

  19. Michael Bertolino on December 7, 2021 at 8:02 pm

I hope the G15 and Legion 5 Pro continue to go toe to toe for the next couple of years. They’re both excellent laptops and you cannot go wrong with either

  20. iCrackr on December 7, 2021 at 8:03 pm

I have the XPS 15 and it’s an amazing machine. Super sleek with a better looking design than the MBA and MBP while also having great battery life, OLED 3.5K display and the RTX 3050Ti, which is no slouch. Amazing machine with plenty of upgradability.

  21. MrVALENTIUS on December 7, 2021 at 8:03 pm

I think Razer Blade 14 can be used for business as well. Cannot see ROG Strix 17 with 3080. This should be on the list. Alienware not on the list? Interesting

I’ve got the Legion 5 Pro. It’s a monster in content creation.

  26. Slevin Zero on December 7, 2021 at 8:10 pm

Got the MBA M1 and Surface Pro 8. Planned to return one of them but might be keeping both

  27. Raja Sekar on December 7, 2021 at 8:15 pm

Dell Inspiron 16 plus seems not in the list.

  28. erzascralet48 on December 7, 2021 at 8:16 pm

Cool call out to even mention Chromebooks. Any plans to review them in 2022, or sticking only to Apple/WIndows?

  29. Mega Nugget 12 on December 7, 2021 at 8:19 pm

I’ve got the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 Carbon edition, it’s really nice for the price. I got it around $1400 aud almost a year ago.
Sells around $1200 aud these days

Would you recommend the Razer Stealth 13 for casual gaming and college?

  31. WutToWrite on December 7, 2021 at 8:20 pm

Getting myself a HP Envy x360 Ryzen 7 5700u model and going to upgrade it to 32gb of ram and an 1tb SSD for $950 total, thank you for helping on my laptop hunt for college!

  36. Great Thanos on December 7, 2021 at 8:27 pm

Which one have best reliability? For 7 8 year

  37. Mr Nobody 619 on December 7, 2021 at 8:30 pm

Legion 5 Pro doesn’t have Advanced Optimus but Legion 5 Non Pro apparently has it ?

  38. Usama Amin on December 7, 2021 at 8:32 pm

Helpful review. No mention of SLS. As a photographer using Lightroom and traveling internationally several times a year looking at something portable. Using a surface book 2 last three years and looking at the SLS i7 or the SP8. Would SP8 16gb suffice? Or for the price go with the heavier SLS? This would also be a heavy work machine using VPN and database work. Truly conflicted.

I got the ROG Strix G17, probably the best 17inch gaming laptop that I could have got in the Q1 of 2021 (where finding laptop with ryzen 5000 cpu were difficult)

  41. Wan Hazim on December 7, 2021 at 8:34 pm
