  2. AdventureMuse on May 14, 2021 at 11:06 pm

That is kind of nice to pay up front and not be locked into a contract. Seems like a solid security system.

  3. Tommy E. on May 14, 2021 at 11:06 pm

I pay $74.00 for the new Monitor, Thermostat, Door Keypad, Glass break detector, Garage opener, door sensors and Doorbell… I’ve seen alot of people complain about the price… Idk why… It’s a good deal…

  4. Lisa Stewart on May 14, 2021 at 11:07 pm

That is a crooked company be careful sensors will fail , cause false triggers , if your away Police will show and guess what your still liable for any fees . They will start telling you to do update on system “ that’s there excuse” it’s temporary .. door works on motor that locks up Winter or summer .. customer service is very poor . They Do not honor the ceo promise . Bbb have poor rating was sued before for false practices , camera lags even with fiber internet . Notification delayed on motion and camera . I am saying this as a 4 yr customer leaving and getting simplisafe / ring . Pay monthly monitoring around 10-20 dollars from police , buy equipment from Amazon , no contract no stress and no excuses , no ripping off

I work for Vivint directly and install this system. If anyone has any questions reply to this comment and we can set up a time to chat.

  6. Jonathan Castaneda on May 14, 2021 at 11:11 pm

Vivint also offers DIY options. If the customer doesn’t qualify for financing. It’s like $349 upfront for a doorbell plus security sensors.

  7. Eric Oxford on May 14, 2021 at 11:12 pm

Can you do a video on the new MYQ capabilities with Liftmaster and similar garage door openers?

  8. Bill Rose on May 14, 2021 at 11:13 pm

I’ve got Vivint and it works nicely. Only big complaint is that they don’t support many smart home devices, for example window shades, garage door openers or sprinklers. If Vivint is monitoring this thread, please correct me if I’m wrong.

  9. myHomeKithome on May 14, 2021 at 11:14 pm

This is a great all-in-one system if a little pricey. No HomeKit 🙁

  10. De slohce on May 14, 2021 at 11:15 pm

I’ve had Vivint a couple of years, worst investment ever. You are limited to four cameras, doesn’t matter indoor or outdoor only 4 cameras period including the doorbell. Also had to have 3 replaced cams 2 at my cost from leaking water into the housing. My control panels I have two one upstairs one down never work. I’ve had several problems with this system. Along with numerous false alarms requiring police to show up. My whole system was a little over $5000, but it more like a paper weight because I never use it. The reason I was excited about this system was I would be able to keep an eye on my swimming pool. As I have several neighborhood kids and younger relatives visit my home. And wanted to have video surveillance just in case. Either way not worth the price or service.

  11. KINGKEN on May 14, 2021 at 11:24 pm

How are the cameras powered? (outdoor and indoor).

  12. Jermain Ortiz on May 14, 2021 at 11:34 pm

    Good review!!

  13. LILIANA9457 on May 14, 2021 at 11:38 pm

No sirven esas cámaras muy baja calidad

  14. Zen Tiger on May 14, 2021 at 11:41 pm

The smart sentry on the outdoor camera can be set to one second. If you’re looking for more info let me know, real quick and better prices than calling them direct.

  15. Curtis Rathbun on May 14, 2021 at 11:42 pm

wow I have FrontPoint… this seems to be very impressive Vivint

  16. Will Major on May 14, 2021 at 11:44 pm

Do you want to see this video where VIVINT clearly didn’t capture a
single event? Best part is VIVINT won’t offer taken it back cause the
system failed. (100% Customer service satisfied, not when they will not
give a refund for a system that don’t work). what would you do?

  17. Mark Kuhn on May 14, 2021 at 11:51 pm

Another great video Steve. We are building a new home and I’m researching home security options. I currently use Arlo Ultra cameras on the exterior of our home and iSmart Alarm on the inside. They of course don’t work together and I have to open individual apps to check alerts. I presume there is no integration from Vivint for Arlo in particular. Does the Vivint system allow for voice commands? Alexa, Google or Siri? What about Homekit? I really enjoy my Ultras’ and am reluctant to spend the money to switch to another camera system, especially if they are lower quality. Would you say the cameras are as good or better than Arlo? Thanks buddy! I appreciate what you do!

Seems like an Ad ! Or promotion

  19. Tonto Schwartz on May 14, 2021 at 11:57 pm

Quite an excellent review. Thanks for covering all the bases with them. I recently ordered Vivint and having it installed. It looks l like it’s exactly what I want, plus so much more. I really enjoyed your video and your take on the product. Thanks so much.

My expensive camera’s from VIVINT didn’t pick up someone vandalizing my
Mercedes Benz several times but my neighbors across the street capture
it showing the person was less than 10 feet away shooting out my windows
right in front of my VIVINT camera. I showed this t Vivint and the
police but they refuse to give me credit for a system that I thought was
protecting me and my family for last two years. They refuse to come and
pickup their system which don’t work and they demanded that we cancel. I
repeatedly asked them would you pay for something that don’t work or
continually don’t work? To make this right pay for the damages done to
my Mercedes Benz or give me all the money I’ve paid into this system
thus far. They refused, and stated we can install new updated equipment
free of charge, but they should be offering this to everyone right now
to save face cause this will happen to everyone who has this system. So
i save them a possible lawsuits in the future only to be punished with
upgrading a system I can’t trust anymore and they will not backup there
equipment or stand behind there expensive system.

Seems like a good system, but pretty pricey, especially for $30/month monitoring and $600. I know it’s not DIY, but it seems to me that Ring has the best thing going right now for the up front costs, $10/month monitoring, and the ability to integrate with other ring products and Alexa. Good Review!

I got this product they do there own in house financing which is nice as we got 1 Smart Hub, 1 Doorbell Camera Pro, 3 Door Sensors, 2 Outdoor Camera Pro, 1 Smoke Detector, 1 Smart Drive, 1 Glass Break Sensor, 1 Medical Pendant and whole reason for get there system as it the only Security System with Local Hard Drive support that act as a DVR which I thought was for local video storage for continuously record to a local network-attached drive, but in fact this is not the case as it still automatic upload detection video every time some one or some thing is on detection which is good but it also a bad thing we have internet data cap 10GB a per-day and in course of one day this can easy burn thru 5GB and there no way to stop it from upload to the cloud server with out disable the Camera’s or Wi-Fi to the Smart Hub it self which is sad it doesn’t just save a local history detection index on the Smart Drive it self and auto post just only the history detection index to cloud server and make it on demand that way. I’m sure some will say upgrade your internet that not a option as it will be more of major down grade to a way lot slow speed vs what we have now which is 90% faster, It sad but has to go back.

    Awesome review.
Some of my favorite features that weren’t mentioned is the integration of Car Guard into the alarm. If someone breaks into your car you can have the outdoor cameras sound a siren or you can have the system arm itself when you drive away from the house. The other thing is the Smart Drive. I’m not sure if you have this or not but it allows for 30 days of continuous recording on all cameras for a tiny fraction of what companies like Nest and Arlo charge.

  25. flipfloplogic on May 15, 2021 at 12:03 am

A contract, expensive hardware and five bucks for each camera? No thanks. Some of the features are nice though.
