—New World Amazon Game Studios MMORPG Description—

Carve your destiny, An explorer holds a torch while he walks through the dark and misty forest
Fate has summoned you to the shores of Aeternum, the Eternal Isle. Overcome the brutal legions of The Corrupted and draw battle lines with competing players in this land of danger and opportunity. In a land hell-bent on your destruction, what will you do to survive? Strike out alone to forge your own heroic path, or band together, fortify, and fight.

Under the surface of Aeternum’s breathtaking landscape lay the seeds of an ancient evil that plots to erase all traces of humanity from its shores. Warriors of bygone ages, doomed adventurers, and creatures of legend have all succumbed to its corruption. It must be stopped.

Combine skill and strength in melee combat, attack at range with precision, or master arcane attacks. However you choose to fight, you’ll need to forge, discover, and customize powerful weapons to fit your combat style. In epic wars with other players or holding back waves of The Corrupted, your combat skills will mean the difference between life and death.

Unite players with in-game social systems that power organization, hierarchy, and command and control of formidable in-game Companies. Venture out with your own intrepid party to battle The Corrupted or to seize the land and treasure of your enemies. A thriving Company consists of master craftsmen, fearless soldiers, guileful traders, and strong leaders. Where do your strengths lie?

"Azoth" for some reason it doesn’t very original. It sounded like it was quickly made up on the spot.

  2. kyle hanson on February 29, 2020 at 12:27 pm

9:00 haven’t seen an mmo with PvP sandbox like this. Try Albion online. I prefer more pve myself. I can’t stand PvP.

  3. Joshua Riendeau on February 29, 2020 at 12:28 pm

I’m just hoping that since this is Amazon, maybe the dream of isekai will be a reality

  4. Tarik McFarland on February 29, 2020 at 12:30 pm

    Thorny-deer creature = Drust/Kul Tiran Druid form
    Azoth = Azerite
Giant Spooky Tree = The Blighted Lands
    17th Century Sea-faring Explorers = Kul’Tirans

  5. Danny in SoCal on February 29, 2020 at 12:30 pm

This seems to suffer from a real sense of being generic as hell.

  6. Seb B on February 29, 2020 at 12:30 pm

They’re going to find: the mmo grind.

  7. Rexshya on February 29, 2020 at 12:32 pm

They need to keep open world pvp. Maybe just give penalties to PKers. Making them outlaws. Or making it so you have to be within 5 levels to attack others

  8. Jennie Kanjanarak on February 29, 2020 at 12:33 pm

why it look like greedfall 100 percent

  9. Special senkokun on February 29, 2020 at 12:33 pm

  10. Daniel Tendel on February 29, 2020 at 12:34 pm

  11. Don Juan on February 29, 2020 at 12:35 pm

  12. Barbeque Sauced on February 29, 2020 at 12:36 pm

theyre trying to sell it to me so much that it makes me not want it
if you have to hype a game like this its not worth playing

  13. Ka en Suuunnni on February 29, 2020 at 12:36 pm

if you really wanna capture a veteran to play your MMO game, dont talk about story. as a vet, we honestly care about pvp/pve, farming, longrun clan v clan, gameplay, and server lag/and whatnot.

tldr, no one gives a shit about story for an MMO to

  14. Xaver Ludewig on February 29, 2020 at 12:38 pm

  15. James Wilson on February 29, 2020 at 12:40 pm

  16. BoshinTV on February 29, 2020 at 12:41 pm

Im scared that the MMO genre is dying :L

  17. CHUD on February 29, 2020 at 12:43 pm

But can I fish in it?

  18. Fielmur on February 29, 2020 at 12:44 pm

Amazon is primarily a business focused Enterprise, and that’s good news for the players. What differentiates them from a classical game developing studio is their methodology for development. By the looks of it, Amazon is going for an Agile development: they develop a first iteration, show it to the client (which here seems to be a sample of players, not the product owner), get feedback and work on the next iteration based on that feedback, repeat. There is one detail that is bugging me though : they announced a release date, which seems to indicate that their client (us, the players) think they nailed it, which can’t possibly be the case. Now if it were a subscription model, I would understand their release, as the development would keep going as long as the return on investment is profitable. But with a one time money income per customer, that just sounds bad: heavy expansions (gw-like), cash shop or … Further investment (possible given their quasi unlimited funds) where they would keep developing the game beyond its profitability to forge a solid QoS and reputation for their next games. Because let’s be honest, there’s a chance they take over the mmo market in the west, and I expect nothing less from a top tier business company making such a move. Cash shop just seems both certain and unlikely at the same time (they all want it, we don’t all want it, but some of us do like cosmetics). I can’t wait to see how it all turns out, but if I had to put money on a single mmo to fulfill its players in the next two years, that would be this one, and one thing is sure, it’ll be worth the money they want for it. I personally think that this marks a new turn for successful MMOs (in the west at least, the east seems to be satisfied with pay to win models)

”Azoth a power that a mineral form has” – Aka Azurite like in Azoroth lol….

  20. Daniel Tendel on February 29, 2020 at 12:46 pm

Damn it looks so good…shame it’s a mmo not single player like Witcher 3 etc.

  21. Molon Labe! on February 29, 2020 at 12:47 pm

Looks like another wow knock off.

  22. sang on February 29, 2020 at 12:47 pm

Why are all the developers so emotionless

  23. RoyalGuardEziode on February 29, 2020 at 12:53 pm

This sounds stupid but I’mma say it. We need an mmo with the extremely variable skillsets and not so linear progression system that Age of Wushu has but way easier, the coop and socializing of wizard 101, a way to start up player drama, the crafting of Lord of the rings online but enhanced and more immersive, black desert graphics and open worldness, and uhh the playerbase of wow/eso, community driven economy and politics, and then you’ve got a masterpiece

  24. Sal Diaz on February 29, 2020 at 12:54 pm

    Been waiting for so long!

  25. James Mameto on February 29, 2020 at 12:57 pm

It’s pretty much Guiild Wars 2’s WvW. The zombies pretty much look like the undead of Orr

  26. Salaundre on February 29, 2020 at 12:57 pm

    Hmm Azorite got it.

  27. Nicholas Kamaris on February 29, 2020 at 12:58 pm

    Looks like wow but better.

  28. Big Brother on February 29, 2020 at 1:01 pm

ZzZzZzZzZ….This is just one long fucking sales pitch. These people have no fucking clue what they want their game to be outside of it being commercially successful. Note they only use vague language and metaphor to build the hype "Mysterious Ore, Choices Matter, Settling the Land" instead of going into the specific engine systems and game mechanics that will make the game fun and interesting. If that doesn’t throw up a ton of red flags for you; then you’ve been living under a rock the past 15 years.

  29. Blake Stone on February 29, 2020 at 1:02 pm

U guys gave a real generic definition for any rpg

  30. NeatoBurrito on February 29, 2020 at 1:02 pm

Visually and stylistically, the game looks kind of bland. Like, for a fantasy game that’s not what you want even if you’re going for a more grounded approach. Like, for this unknown magical continent we don’t see any alien or fantastical architecture at all. None of the creatures stand on. Literally the only armors we see look like generic versions of IRL Earth armor.

In b4 Maple tanks the final boss at level 10.

  37. G. H on February 29, 2020 at 1:10 pm

They have horde flags and "azoth" which is just azerite and azeroth from wow mixed together. Wow ok. Yet another game with wasted potential.

  38. The Innkeeper on February 29, 2020 at 1:12 pm

It seems odd to me that they are limiting server size to 1000 players (I assume that’s 1k players online at a time which means multiple thousands for actual server population) and also talking about "opt-in" PvP. Why not just have some of the servers be FFA PvP? That will certainly keep your PVP crowd happier, while simultaneously keeping them away from your PvP averse crowd.

Literally click only 1 button to create a weapon and sell it.
With that money buy another ingredients for making another weapon or armor or accesory.

  48. Luke Van Eijk on February 29, 2020 at 1:24 pm
